Customs Academy of Pakistan
is imparting professional training to Customs officers and staff at Karachi for the past 50 years. Previously named as Directorate General of Training and Research (Customs), the institute was renamed as Pakistan Customs Academy in 2022. The training facility is located in impressive Old Custom House Building built in year 1916 near Karachi Port. The Academy has two regional training facilities in Lahore and Islamabad catering to the capacity building needs of Customs formations of upcountry. Every year Pakistan Customs Academy conducts Specialized Training Programs for newly recruited Assistant Collectors, Preventive officers, Appraising officers, Intelligence officers and Valuation officers. The Academy also conducts Mid-Career Domain Specific Training for Customs officers in coordination with the National School of Public Policy. Numerous capacity building courses are conducted throughout the entire year for Customs officers, Customs Agents as well as the functionaries of other cross-border agencies. WCO and UNODC E-learning courses are also conducted regularly in the Academy. The Academy also imparts Enforcement training to the Assistant Collectors in coordination with the WCO experts. Awareness workshops and seminars about new initiatives of Customs and other relevant topics are also conducted regularly for the trading community.
